"Cutting cords doesn't mean, "I don't love you or care about you anymore." Cord cutting doesn't necessarily lead to break-ups or abandoned relationships. It simply means that you are releasing the dysfunctional parts of your relationships. Remember, fear is the opposite of love, and etheric cords (and all attachments) are created from fear”. Doreen Virtue
If you have decided to move on from a relationship and you find it particularly difficult to “let-go” it may be that there are emotional cords of attachment holding you back.
An emotional tie between two people causes patterns from the past to constantly be relived. These ties are an open channel between you and another person through which energy and emotions flow without your conscious knowledge. On a very subtle level, you are literally “attached” to each other.
Emotional cords are every bit as real as if you were holding one end of the cord and the other person in the relationship holding the other end. The only difference is that you can't see this cord but you can surely feel it. It can hold you back from moving forward in your journey and embracing your wholeness as a beautiful spiritual being.
If you are in a relationship that is draining you, holding you back or taking away your power, you most likely have emotional cords between you. Can you cut them? Yes, but care should be taken with a conscious awareness and respect for the fact that this is a process.
The first thing you need to do is to take a break from being around this person, given the intensity of energy that is flowing between you. Sometimes these cords reach across time and space, so we have to work with them at all levels.
When we give our power away to other people, our relationship with ourself is dysfunctional and we allow cords of energy to tie us to those people. You can cut the cord, but first you must resolve the underlying reason why you corded to this person in the first place, otherwise, the cord will continue to come back.
It is necessary to have some ties in every relationship, but it is vital to see the difference between a beneficial and destructive tie. Every day we exchange energy with friends, partners, parents, children, siblings, friends, co-workers, and acquaintances. Sometimes we may feel hurt, misunderstood, betrayed, judged, or insulted. Many times we are not aware of how much energy we give to these experiences which could ignite emotions such as fear, anger, or resentment. If we do not resolve and forgive these moments, we continually give our energy to these incidents and keep negative patterns alive.
Are you unable to determine if you are energetically and/or emotionally tied to a person or situation? Take a moment to think of the person involved ~ do you feel an emotion rise up? Take note of what emotions you feel. Also how you feel after being around this person. Are you drained, are you feeling anger or just feeling off but can't put your finger on why? This shows that some of your energy is still invested in this relationship.
Removing negative energies leaves us space for new harmonious energies to enter. When the energetic tie is cut, you will feel a sense of freedom or having a heavy burden removed. You may feel the effects physically, energetically, or emotionally.
Take your focus off the negative connections in your life and concentrate on the positive ones. By learning to recognize the healthy, nurturing connections in your life, it will become easier to identify unhealthy or depleting ones. The more you focus on the positive connections in your life, the more of these connections you will attract. By focusing on the positive, you may find some of the negative ties in your relationships will disintegrate by themselves.
Letting go doesn't mean that you don't care about someone anymore. It's just realizing that the only person you really have control over is yourself ... Deborah Reber
Letting go means coming to the realization that some people are part of your history, but not part of your destiny ... Steve Maraboli

Positive or Negative
Today I met someone and we instantly connected at a very deep level. We sat and talked for hours.
I wonder, why are there connections with some but not others? There are, I believe invisible threads joining us to those we hold dear and also reserved for those yet unmet.
Energies are shifting right now, individual vibrations are changing, spirituality is growing. I am amazed at the incredible people who have become dear friends over the past couple of years. Each of these people have been provided at an opportune time in my journey to provide me with needed learning and lessons.
As I have grown spiritually through my journey, my vibrational energy too has also increased. This, I believe lays at the root of why a particular type of person constantly crosses my path. Vibrational energy extends beyond the physical form, sometimes extending upwards of 8-12 feet. Anyone crossing through that vibrational field will feel that positive energy and be attracted to it. They may not understand why, but they most likely will feel happier,
What do you project in your life and what type of people do you attract to yourself? We either project a positive or negative energy field. How can you know? Look closely at your life. Do you wake up every morning with gratitude in your heart or do you wake up dreading the day ahead? That is a good indicator of what you are projecting. By employing an attitude of gratitude, it is impossible to feel negative emotions. These two emotions cannot reside side by side. If you are grateful how can you possibly be angry? Negativity can be so ingrained in you that you don't even realize it. That is because negativity sometimes comes disguised as ‘reality’. It’s easy to think that you’re ‘being realistic’ by not living or following your dreams ~ and soon you will believe it! This doesn’t mean that being realistic is automatically negative. If your version of reality is negative and you view the world from a ‘realistic’ standpoint, you can’t help but be negative.
Are you a glass half full or glass half empty person? Even without any liquid, the glass is never empty ~ it is always full of air and energy. If your version of reality is negative, you have been conditioned to believe that whatever can go wrong, will go wrong and whatever can go right, will probably go wrong too. Your unconscious beliefs make you into a negative person without your being aware of it!
If this is you, you will find that most of the people and events attracted to your life are also leaning towards negativity. The law of attraction says that like attracts like and that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts, one can bring about positive or negative results.
How can we change this pervasive attitude of negativity. Simply by starting with one thought. When a negative emotion crosses your mind, replace it with the positive emotion. For example, if you wake and instantly think, "I am in pain, everything hurts and I'm aching all over", replace that thought with, "I am in-joying my best possible health right now." If you are angry with someone over an incident, instead send them love. You and only you choose how you react to the situation.
What will happen if you employ this attitude? Your positive energy will magnetically attract what you consider to be good and right for you: people, situations, things ~ you will start to see an increase in your happiness and inner peace. Choose positive energies! Make these small changes within, and you will see positive changes reflected in your life.
Enjoy the good feelings and all the abundance the Universe has to offer.
Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become your words. Keep your words positive because your words become your behaviour. Keep your behaviour positive because your behaviour becomes your habits. Keeps your habits positive because your habits become your values. Keep your values positive because your values become your destiny ... Mahatma Gandhi

Which Way Do You Spin?
In order to be healthy, emotionally and physically your chakras must be clear from blockages and spinning in a clockwise manner. A healthy chakra, spinning clockwise takes energy into the body. If it is spinning counter clockwise, it sends energy out of the body, leaving you more open to illness.
You have seven main chakras represented by a different colour, each connected to different emotions and organs.
Let's take a tour shall we from the first to the seventh to see what each one does.
The first chakra or energy centre is located at the base of the spine. Called the "root chakra" it is represented by red. It carries our life force upwards and down through our legs connecting us to the earth for grounding and support. An unbalanced or distorted root chakra can exhibit a variety of physical symptoms in the adrenals, rectum, spinal, immune related disorders, osteoporosis and other bone disorders. If this chakra is balanced you enjoy trust, security and a strong connection to family and community. You feel at home in your body and enjoy it.
The second chakra or energy centre is located several inches below the naval. Called the "sacral chakra" it is represented by orange. This centre governs our sensuality, sexuality, emotions, our inner child, governs how we establish boundaries and how we relate in groups. An unbalanced or distorted sacral chakra may result in sexual dysfunction, disease or dysfunction of the reproductive system, IBS, colitis, bladder or urinary problems, appendicitis and lower back problems. If this chakra is balanced you enjoy touching and being touched. You are comfortable both giving and receiving enjoyment, love, money and material things. You know when to and are comfortable saying no.
The third chakra or energy centre is located near the sternum. Called the "power chakra" it is represented by yellow. This centre governs our self esteem, self worth and personal power. An unbalanced or distorted power chakra may result in diabetes, digestive issues, gallbladder problems, hiatus hernia, hemorrhoids and varicose veins. If this chakra is balanced you will claim your power and stand in it. Your intentions are clearly focused and you can and will accomplish a great deal.
The fourth chakra or energy centre is located in the centre of the chest. Called the "heart chakra" it is represented by green. This chakra is the bridge between the three lower chakras that connect us to the earth and the three upper chakras that connect us to the infinite. An unbalanced or distorted heart chakra may result in heart problems, breathing ~ asthma and allergies, immune deficiency, circulation and tension held between the shoulder blades. Functioning properly you are able to give and receive unconditional love. You are vulnerable and open, grateful, content, at peace, compassionate and forgiving.
The fifth chakra or energy centre is located at the throat. Called the "throat chakra" it is represented by blue. This chakra is associated with creative expression and the ability to speak our truth. When this chakra is out of balance it can result in temporomandibular joint problems, thyroid disease, swollen glands, neck problems, sinus issues, mouth and teeth disorders. Functioning properly you live your dreams, your vision and your greater purpose.
The sixth chakra or energy centre is located between the brows. Called the "third eye chakra" it is represented by violet. Through this chakra we can develop our senses beyond the scope of our normal five senses. A distorted sixth chakra can result in being close minded, problems with sight, headaches, neurological disorders, strokes and upper or frontal sinus disorders. Functioning properly you are open minded and seek the truth.
The seventh chakra or energy centre is located on the crown of our head. Called the "crown chakra" it is represented by indigo. This chakra is our connection with spirit, our higher power and the universe. Distortion of this chakra can result in learning difficulties, spiritual addictions and rigid belief systems. Diseases and disorders that can result from a distorted crown chakra are neurological disorders, depression, bipolar, dementia, dyslexia and attention deficit disorder. Functioning properly you live openly, fully on your path and selflessly contribute to the greater good.
So how can chakras be opened and cleared of blockages. Crystals may be used with great success to open the chakras, matching the colour of the crystal to the colour of the chakra. For example a garnet for the root chakra and an amethyst for the crown chakra. Reiki is another amazing way to open and clear blockages in the chakras. I have personally witnessed massive healing and changes with reiki alone. As well regular meditation will open and clear them.
Having suffered personally through years of physical illness due to blocked energy centres, I have realized the amazing benefits of clearing blockages and my chakras now spin freely in a clockwise manner. As emotional baggage dropped away, I felt myself becoming a more open and loving person. Forgiveness and acceptance came easier. And physical illnesses started to slowly drop away. My energy centres are clear and my life force is able to flow freely.
Today I see a different world than I did and I am grateful for each and every moment. I am fully present in my life and look forward with gratitude for the start of my next decade having just passed by my 60th birthday.

Growth and Moving On
Moving on after a loss or a hurt can be painful and difficult. It is often so easy to allow yourself to fall into the role of victim, letting our ego tell us, "you have been wronged ~ you were and are right ~ you should speak up and tell your side of the story ~ you don't deserve this treatment".
So how do we move on from this place of pain?
Realize that ego, that part of each one of you is working against you. It is nothing more than a coping mechanism that you developed over time as you re-learned to conform through societal, educational and parental programming. You were designed and created in perfect beauty, a pure being with unconditional love for yourself and everyone else.
But you ask, can I manage day to day without my ego? There is nothing you cannot achieve with belief in yourself and your abilities.
First, realize that what you must let go of is most likely necessary for your growth. Sometimes we hold on to something or someone as a crutch which is effectively preventing us from realizing our true potential.
A recent situation has made me see that in order to move on I must let go of limiting beliefs. And in letting go, I can fly free, no longer flying as a passenger but piloting my own plane. Am I ready to do this? I believe yes, with a little tenderness for myself as I cope with the loss, then love for myself as I venture out on my own and then patience as I learn to fly solo.
Deepak Chopra said, "If you want to reach a state of bliss, then go beyond your ego and the internal dialogue. Make a decision to relinquish the need to control, the need to be approved, and the need to judge. Those are the three things the ego is doing all the time. It's very important to be aware of them every time they come up."
The beauty of staying in the present is that the past does not hold you in its grip any longer. Whatever is in the past has served to bring you here, to strengthen your resolve, to make you the magnificent being that you are now.
When presented with challenges, step back, BREATHE and then choose how you wish to react. There are only are five things in this life you can control. You can control your thoughts, you can control your words, you can control your actions, you can control your emotions and you can control your reactions. Everything else is beyond your control.
Only you can choose how you will react, and sometimes the appropriate response is to not react at all.
Blessings and light ....

The Year of The Wood Horse
Gong Hey Fat Choy!!!
This month is the Chinese New Year and also the year of the wood horse. Kim Elkington describes this year as symbolic of our "divine masculine energy which brings action to the deep knowing of the heart. We can begin new stories now, and their power and energies will amaze us, whisper your vision to the horses ear, then let go and enjoy the ride."
According to Chinese astrology this will be an amazing year empowering us to put our hearts desires into action!
What wonderful news is this for the environment, natural health and for global consciousness.
This year will be the fastest moving and most creative explosion of energy within the last 60 year cycle. Over the past four years we have been on a journey of introspection and spiritual exploration.
Now with Wood Horse, we start fresh ~ creating new stories while feeling supported and then watch our dreams manifest out into the physical world.
Were you born in the year of the horse. I was and I find myself surprised by the accuracy of what Chinese Astrology has to say about my personality.
Have you heard of or ever used vision boards? This would be the ideal year to create one. This is not to say that you should create one and sit back expecting your board to manifest that "million dollar home". The film, "The Secret" lulled us all into believing that all we had to do was think it, create that board and presto ~ it would manifest. For example if your are looking for love, let us focus the board on how you feel loved, supported and heard rather than what that partner's physical attributes should look like.
The winds whisper of deep change at last. I find myself opening to a new and improved version of myself, free of self doubt, criticism and dislike.
Embrace the change ~ allow yourself to soar and become who were meant to be. You are a beautiful representation of the Divine, designed and created in perfection, so why would you think that you are not able.
Tap into the power of intention which is creative, kind, expanding, endlessly abundant and stop holding yourself back with negative, limiting thoughts. Embrace your beauty, your potential and tell yourself ...
I AM WORTHY ~

"The spirit of the horse is recognized to be the people's ethos – making unremitting efforts to improve themselves. It is energetic, bright, warm-hearted, intelligent and able. People born in the year of the horse have ingenious communicating techniques and they always want to be in the limelight. They are clever, kind to others, and entrepreneurial. Although they sometimes talk too much, they are cheerful, perceptive, talented, earthy but stubborn. Faced with any difficulties, they are willful and strong to overcome them. Sometimes they doubt themselves too much, which can lead to a gradual loss of confidence. When completing a task, they seek confirmation."

Next Steps
I am honoured to now be attuned to level II in my Reiki journey.
What an incredible experience. The master that was provided for my attunement gave me such a beautiful, gentle opening, much like herself. During the ceremony I felt many emotions bubbling up until they could be contained no longer and spilled over the rims of my eyes, tracing tracks down my cheeks and gently dropping onto my chest. When it was over, she bowed to me and expressed words of humbleness, saying she was honoured to have been part of this journey with me. As tears came to her eyes, we embraced, an expression of pure unconditional love that rocked me.
I came directly home and almost immediately started the detoxification process of the attunement. First lower tummy problems, then dizziness, then extreme fatigue. And as well my body (especially around my heart chakra) was buzzing and vibrating. I drank much water to get grounded. I found I could not stay awake so I decided to go to bed early.
Usually my wee dog sleeps with me, but the night of the attunement she did not. I wonder was the massive energy field I was generating too much for her???
I slept extremely well with only one wakeful interruption. And then when I awoke the following morning at 5:30 I found myself intoning the sacred symbols by name and intuitively knowing the sacred symbols which had been imprinted on and in me during the ceremony.
I feel a strong connection to the earth, my Reiki guides and everything living. The love I feel is growing exponentially.
A dear friend called me last night and as I picked up the phone, I suddenly heard and felt a strong tone in my head and around my head. It pressed against me, pressed into my ears pushing it's way into my crown chakra and tuning out every other sound, even the voice of my friend. It seemed to be infusing me with more and more love by the second. When I could hold no more, the tone gently drifted away. A profound experience, even though it only lasted about 35 seconds.
This journey is only just a year for me, but my wonderment never ceases at the power of a Reiki. I look forward to the continuation of my journey, now with the ability to send distance Reiki, the ability to heal past wounds, the ability to send Reiki to the planet.
I am always amazed that Reiki gently spoke to me, took my hand and brought me home. And now to have the privilege of channelling this beautiful universal energy to help others in their journey humbles me. The honour of being part of the group of healers that channel Reiki is still overwhelming to me.
As I head into a major surgery this coming week, I will use the power of Reiki energy to bring me through and ease my recovery. I will send this energy into the operating room, the equipment and the medical staff to gently bring us through the two hour procedure.
I am light and love and I am Reiki ...

Gratitude and Learning Lessons
How are we to be grateful for the good and bad, positive and negative circumstances and situations that cross our paths?
I was recently broadsided by a vicious communication from a family member.
How do I raise my gratitude for this? How do I accept that this happened for a reason, that there is a lesson within it for me, release it and then move forward?
One year ago, this would have sent me spiralling into a depression, holding onto the venomous words, allowing them to suppurate until they were eating at the very core of my being. Now, however, I find it interesting that, although I was most certainly shocked and initially upset by these words, I am able to delete the communication, release it, send love and light to the sender and move on.
Allowing the positive emotions I affirm and emulate daily to become my focus, using them to maintain a higher vibration, acknowledging this communication and then releasing it. And by sending this person the beautiful Ho'oponopono Prayer ~ I am sorry, Please forgive me, I love you, Thank you, we connect at the soul level. Although her physical body may never be aware, her energetic self hears it, feels it and knows my intention through the deeper spiritual connection in which we are all one.
We are going through massive metaphysical changes with more and more people moving towards a higher consciousness and awakening to their divinity. As we cross these bridges, there will be more challenges, twists and turns in our road that we will have to conquer in order to determine our direction.
Learning to feel gratitude for these tests, is difficult when they are placed in our way. But they are provided as teachers in our spiritual and emotional growth on this leg of our journey. Each one bringing us to a more profound understanding of our spirituality and rights as a divine being.
Embrace these stumbling blocks in your road, raise your gratitude for them and then release them to the universe.
I am reminded of the old childhood poem, "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me." Although words can be cutting and cruel, they can do no damage to you, unless you choose to let them.
Today I choose love, gratitude and forgiveness ~
